Saudi Arabia's culture strongly revolves around the state religion, Islam. One of the five pillars of Islam states, that all followers must make a pilgrimage (Hajj) to the Ka'aba, located in Mecca. Being the home to Mecca, Saudi Arabia has a strong devotion to Islam. Daily life is paused 5 times a day for prayer, each prayer lasting around 30 minutes. During this period everything shuts down, including banks, stores, and even agencies of the government. The prayer times change each day, because it corresponds to the position of the sun. Because of that, people use smart phone apps to keep up.

- Not being able to be seen without a floor length black robe (Abaya).
- Not allowed to drive.
- Other than their husbands and family, they are not allowed to talk to men.
- If they decide to talk to other men, they have taken on the risk of being locked up.
